Every story of high end residential design has to start somewhere and ours starts here. Once upon a time there were two designers, Mary & Lindsay. Mary grew up in the beautiful Salt Lake Valley, completed her interior design education at Utah State University and landed an epic job working at an architecture firm in Salt Lake City. Lindsay spent her youth roaming the Idaho countryside, completed her interior design education at Brigham Young University Idaho and eventually also landed an epic job working at an architecture firm in Salt Lake.

To say they hit it off immediately would be an understatement. They actually got along so well that they had a self-imposed rule that they couldn’t sit together in meetings so their banter wouldn’t cause both themselves and the meeting to devolve into a poorly executed session of laughing yoga. Lindsay has never been flexible enough for that sort of thing anyways. It was the best of times and not even Dicken’s pesimistic parallelism  could deter them.

But all good things do eventually come to an end, even if it’s only to lead to more good things and their story was no exception. After much discussion and many an ice cream run the two decided to create their own design firm that focuses on people. Rather than chasing the latest trends, they wanted to create beautiful homes where their clients could truly feel free to be themselves- a place that they felt they belonged just as much as the place belonged to them.

This vision led to the creation of Line by Line Interior Design- a firm that believes everyone deserves good design. Including you.

Mary

Following her education in interior design, Mary worked at an architectural firm on a variety of projects including temple projects for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, higher education projects, restaurant design, and residential design. While she loves design, it’s not her only passion. She also loves drawing, traveling, the outdoors, camping, hiking, adventuring and of course hanging out with her husband. Of course, it’s hard to choose a favorite design style, but she does have a weakness for mid-century modern, and really, who can blame her?

Lindsay

Lindsay actually has taken up yoga since those early meetings at the architectural firm. It is laughing yoga, not because it actually is, but because she’s still not any good at it and it is ridiculous to watch. Following her work on projects including multiple temple projects for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, a medical space and high-end residential design, she is excited to focus on residential spaces and loves the process of making a house feel like the client’s home. Like Mary, she loves traveling as well as photography, writing, art and adventuring the latest estate and antique sales with her handsome husband who may have been roped into helping her implement a design project or two on more than one occasion. What a trooper.

Kaley

Kaley received her design education at LDS-Business College in Salt Lake City and has had extensive experience working with model home builders to help them show the best of their work. In addition, she’s worked on custom residential projects and has additional experience assisting clients with custom bedding, drapery, design retail, and customer service. In addition to her love for design, she may also have a weakness for the strawberry lemonade at MidiCi (who doesn’t?) is a fabulous Instagrammer and loves spending time with her husband and son.
